Mothers’ Day is on Sunday, so consider this your friendly reminder to pick up a card or make a call to the mothers and caregivers in your life! As always, it’s the thought that counts, but if you are looking for some great gift-ideas or have a mother, wife or friend who loves reading, this list is a great starting point for some memoirs of inspiring Australian mothers across business and history.
In the words of American author, Dorothy Canfield Fisher, “A mother is not a person to lean on, but a person to make leaning unnecessary.” So we’d like to give a big shout out to all the mums and caregivers for the time, love and sacrifice they put in to help each of us reach our potential.
My own mother always is a stickler for healthy food options, and she would be a huge fan of these simple no-cook snacks. They pack loads of vitamins and taste sensations with not a single pot or pan to scrub – which means I’m definitely a fan as well! Why not try and create one snack box per day and rotate through the week? The fruit and nut box is great for those 3pm cravings, and the celery in the protein box will boost your Vitamin K levels and keep you well and truly energized.
Celery is one of those versatile vegetables that will never break your grocery budget. Not only does it lower inflammation and cholesterol levels (as well as help fight against infections) it also tastes delicious and makes for a perfect office snack! Try it with peanut butter, cream cheese or hummus, and add it to your soups for an extra kick of vitamins.
As always, please let me know if there are any particular topics or benefits that you would love us to look into, or if you have any queries or concerns.
