As we say hello to the Silly Season, we can finally say goodbye to the suspicious moustaches of November! Although the Movember cause is definitely something we can all get behind. The Movember foundation has raised hundreds of millions of dollars to date. It has also had over 5 million people come together from across the world to rally behind men’s health initiatives and raise awareness. Pretty impressive for an idea that started in a pub in Melbourne. So really I ‘mustache’ you a question – do any of you have any initiatives that can grow beyond the pub to help others?
Brunch can be more than overpriced smashed avo and lost house deposits. This delicious and simple recipe for slow roasted tomatoes is rich in lycopene which is scientifically proven to help prevent a number of cancers. It also reduces your risk for developing cardiovascular disease. You can throw this one together in the comfort of your own home to power up your morning or as a fantastic side dish to go with your dinner. Who says gourmet health has to be high maintenance?
One minute can feel like a lifetime when you have deadlines and meetings coming out of your ears. Taking the time to stop and breathe is a fantastic way to relax and refocus for your day ahead. I recommend putting a calendar reminder into your phone for twice a day – morning and afternoon – and taking 60 seconds to check in with yourself. It’s amazing how much better you feel when you can become aware of yourself and then can action plan for your day.
