Security Architect

Use your architecture & cyber security expertise to drive solutions & ensure security best practice across key Queensland Government projects.

The Role:

As a Solution Architect with a security focus, you'll work across multiple architectural domains, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, aligned with Queensland Government standards, and secure by design. This role covers everything from pre-project planning and options analysis, to providing strategic advice and delivering architecture artefacts that support effective decision-making and risk management.

You'll collaborate with technical SMEs, business stakeholders, and project teams to develop, assure and guide technical solutions that meet business and security requirements, while ensuring compliance with standards like ISO 27001, IS18 and NIST CSF.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Work across security, application, and technology domains.
✅ Develop & assure solution architecture artefacts (conceptual & logical designs, data models).
✅ Prepare & review technical specifications, control options papers, designs & plans.
✅ Contribute to business cases, options analysis & pre-procurement planning.
✅ Ensure alignment with Queensland Government standards and TMR enterprise architecture.
✅ Provide strategic advice on security & technical trends.
✅ Advise on security best practices, risks & governance frameworks.
✅ Build strong relationships with Project Managers, SMEs & stakeholders.
✅ Support the Project Manager in risk identification, reporting & project delivery.

What You'll Bring:

🔹 7+ years in architecture and/or cyber security, ideally in principal/lead roles.
🔹 Strong experience in security roadmaps & strategy delivery in large, complex environments.
🔹 Proven ability to develop technical documentation & architecture artefacts.
🔹 Deep understanding of architecture & security frameworks like ISO 27001, IS18, NIST CSF, TOGAF.
🔹 Exceptional communication & stakeholder engagement skills.
🔹 Experience working across public and private sectors, with Queensland Government experience highly desirable.

Contract Details:

📍 Location: Carseldine + Work From Home mix
📆 Contract: 10 months
💰 Rate: $1,250-$1,350 per day
