About the Role
Our Energy provider client is at the forefront of digital transformation in the sector and they are looking for an experienced API Developer with expertise in Java and AWS to join their team. This role is crucial in helping implement the Consumer Data Right (CDR) for the energy sector, a regulatory framework designed to give consumers more control over their data and enable competitive, tailored energy services. You'll be building and optimising APIs to facilitate data sharing between energy retailers and accredited data recipients.
As an API Developer, you will be responsible for developing, securing, and optimising the APIs that enable this data sharing. Your work will directly impact how consumers interact with their energy data, driving innovation and competitive pricing in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and deploy scalable APIs in Java and AWS that facilitate secure data sharing in compliance with the CDR framework.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate API solutions with internal systems and external third-party services.
Ensure that APIs meet security and compliance standards set by the CDR legislation.
Collaborate with data holders like energy retailers and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to manage and share key datasets, including customer, billing, and metering data.
Implement and maintain API documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor and troubleshoot APIs to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in API development using Java.
Strong knowledge of AWS services, particularly for API deployment and management.
Experience in developing secure, scalable APIs, with a focus on data compliance.
Familiarity with the Consumer Data Right (CDR) or a similar regulatory framework is highly advantageous.
Experience in the energy sector or working with National Electricity Market (NEM) data is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
