A government organisation is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Officer. This is a 12-month contract and it is based in Sydney CBD.
The Desktop Support Officer provides broad-ranging ICT support to users and projects. The role provides assistance, information and support to end users to resolve reported issues, installs software and tools, manages general administrative issues, and prepares reports.
Responsibilities:
Desktop support including, setup, configuration, deployment/re-deployment of all desktop, laptop and in-house mobile systems, audio visual systems and network patching.
Support of Windows 10 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2016 suit, other standard end user applications, multi-function devices and electronic whiteboards.
Support the VOIP telephone system including system administration and desktop handsets.
Utilise appropriate tools and methods to address end user support enquiries and return users' ICT systems and networks to optimum efficiency.
Manage set-up activities for ICT devices and systems; monitor their performance to limit or prevent loss of service to end users.
Monitor the performance of systems and assist with the identification of potential issues and propose solutions.
Contribute to the development of reference materials to assist the support of ICT support systems through maintenance of documentation on system configurations and technical processes
Work with vendors and outsource partners in the provision of ICT services.
Contribute to the improvement of ICT services through the provision of excellent customer service, proactive vendor liaison and the appropriate escalation of relevant incidents, requests and problems.
Assist with the project management of ICT projects and implementations.
Provide excellent customer service.
Requirements:
You must be a full Australian Citizen in order to obtain NV1 security clearance for this role
Relevant experience in Desktop Support
Experience and skills in end-user ICT infrastructure support service provision
Sound customer service orientation with clients, peers, management and external service providers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and participate in cross functional project teams
