The Company This is a new role working with the NSW Electoral Commission who will soon be embarking on the implementation of iVote. This is a great career opportunity for an experienced Team Lead to step up into a Management role and still retain some hands on involvement.
The Role As the Manager, Information Security Operations you will be responsible for the management of Cyber Security Operations by managing both internal and external security operations centres. You will manage a team of one, as well as work with the service provider and the business units.
You will ensure the information and cyber security controls in place are operational in accordance with policies and procedures and you will manage responses to information and cyber security incidents. You will be accountable for the accuracy and responsiveness of services in relation to prediction, prevention, identification and response to all nature of information cyber security risks, incidents and events.
Manage day-to-day information and cyber security operations
Direct from a technical perspective, and lead Cyber Security Response on major incidents
Ensure implementation of effective tactical and strategic recommendations for preventative security controls from a Cyber Defense perspective including Vulnerability Management
Manage the Information Security Operations team to build capability, establish and maintain performance standards
Define, establish and execute risk based security testing strategies
Provide recommendations on potential vulnerabilities and mitigation plan
Influence strategy, planning and investment activities to uplift the Cyber Security Response capability
Manage supplier management life cycle
Manage SLAs and compliance
Previous experience as a SOC Manager is preferable but a comprehensive background in Cyber Security is a prerequisite
Must have significant experience within a Security Operations Centre, preferably in a Lead role.
Experience managing or leading a small team
Broad range of technical understanding and experience with security technologies such as end-point protection, web application firewalls, internet proxy servers, SIEM and logging (such as Splunk), IPS/IDS systems and perimeter firewalls
Strong understanding and proven experience with information and cyber security incident management processes
Strong communication skills to convey complex technical issues to business stakeholders
Relevant tertiary qualification
