Ditch ‘Al Desko’ Dining

Eating at your desk is a terrible habit that is so easy to fall into. Losing your lunch break to ‘just quickly replying to this email’ or ‘just wrapping up one last thing’ is not only enough to make your day drag on, it can actually make you less productive in the long run! Stepping away from your desk for a half-hour walk can refresh your mind and help improve your focus for the rest of the day. So why not pick up a healthy lunch from a new café a few blocks away, or purely enjoy the fresh air and soak up some Vitamin D? Lunching away from your computer screen can also make your colleagues like you more – who hasn’t been trying to type when the waft of a particularly pungent culinary creation fills your nostrils and causes an unpleasant reaction? Fish curries, onion soups and blue cheese quiches do not make you the office Prom King or Queen. Not to mention the crumbs and spills that will end up in your keyboard over time – sticky keys are not ideal if they are snack based…

Sometimes it can be hard to go to the effort of thinking of some place new to try. Although robotic stimulation for injury recovery and high-tech gadgets that connect to your smartphones will definitely add some Space Odyssey to your wellness routine.
