Data Engineer

$900 p/d
Data Engineer required for immediate contract role working for logistics business based in Western suburbs of Melbourne. You will play a key role in uplifting their enterprise data platform, enabling smarter insights and an improved experience for customers.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design, develop, and maintain a modern Data Lakehouse using Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and other tools within the Azure data stack
Build and optimise scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align them with technical solutions
Implement best practices across data governance, security, and compliance in a cloud environment
Collaborate in an agile team and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps pipelines
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in data engineering with Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Python, and Azure Data Services (Data Factory, ADLS, Event Hub)
Strong understanding of cloud DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and integration into production systems
Experience designing and scaling Data Lakehouse and distributed data architectures
Strong skills in data modelling, performance tuning, and ETL/ELT development
Knowledge of data governance and cloud security best practices
