Data Migration Specialist (Great Plains to D365)

• 6 month contract.
• Daily rate: $820 per day including superannuation.
• Experience in Great Plains migration is preffered.
• Based in Port Melbourne, Hybrid work structure, 3 days onsite mandatory.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Specialist to join our client for an exciting ERP transformation project. This role will be crucial in managing and executing data-related tasks as we transition from Great Plains to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, tidying up data in Salesforce, and implementing comprehensive data migration plans.

ERP Transformation

• Data Ownership: Take ownership of all data-related aspects of the ERP transformation project.
• Data Migration: Develop and execute data migration plans to ensure a seamless transition from Great Plains to D365.
• Data Quality: Oversee data cleanup efforts in Salesforce to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the ERP Project Manager and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure they are met.

Data Management

• Data Analysis: Analyze existing data structures, identify issues, and propose solutions for data improvement.
• Data Mapping: Create data mapping documents to support the migration process.
• Data Validation: Implement and oversee data validation procedures to ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data-related processes, including data migration plans, data mapping, and data validation results.

Implementation

• Technical Expertise: Utilize technical skills to support the data migration process, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
• Testing and Verification: Conduct thorough testing and verification of migrated data to ensure it meets business requirements.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve data-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions to the project timeline.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in data management, data migration, and ERP systems, preferably with Great Plains and D365.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, SQL, and data analysis tools.
• Salesforce: Experience with Salesforce data management and cleanup (not essential)
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
