At Clicks, we think our Contractors are awesome. Every year we recognise our amazing IT professionals in our national Contractor of Year campaign.
But it’s not just about what we think. That’s why in 2023, we asked our Contractors why they believe they deserve to be crowned Clicks Contractor of the Year! It was fantastic to see so many outstanding nominations this year. It reflects our IT contractors’ dedication and the quality outcomes they deliver.
We’d like to announce the five runner-ups of this year’s COTY awards, who will receive a fantastic lunch with their Clicks Account Manager:

But without further ado, we’d like to announce the WINNER of Clicks’ 2023 Contractor of the Year
Amir Nasr!
Amir was presented with his prize – a $1,500 JB HI-FI Voucher – by Clicks’ National Contractor Care Manager, Rachel Fancoli
The winning nomination by Amir’s manager highlighted the overall impact he has had on the organisation though his perfomance outcomes as well as his positive attitude and being a well-liked member of the team.

The winning nomination
Amir has been working very well and has been highly productive and provided excellent expertise immediately from his very first day with us. He is highly intelligent, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, very socially capable, friendly and I am particularly impressed by his positive can-do attitude.

He is working wonderfully, harmoneously and extremely effectively with the other developers in our team. He has the ability to fit in quickly and is well-liked by all. Plus, he is a very effective communicator, providing useful information and progress statuses very well, thus improving the team’s effectiveness and keeping everyone, particularly his supervisor, up-to-date. As his supervisor, I especially appreciate his ability to present effective options and seek confirmation from me when important decisions need to be made. He then updates the team on how he has implemented major aspects of his work tasks.
Amir has performed well above expectations, as he has brought with him a substantial amount of knowledge and expertise from the wealth of his previous work experience. He has found innovative solutions to development tasks, and he ensures that the whole team is on top of these so that we are able to support these once his contract is up. Similarly, he has made highly practical suggestions to developmental directions, systems archtecture, infrastructure, security and processes that will have long-term benefits to us moving forward. We did not expect these benefits when we hired Amir, so they have been a bonus to us! His broad yet deep expertise and his fresh eyes have helped us beyond our expectations!
Although our funding arrangements only allows us to have Amir until the end of the year, in the short time that we have had Amir he has made a herculean impact. I am very pleased to have the privilege of nominating him for Clicks Contractor of the year.

Thank you very much Clicks for this award and prize! I’m going to buy an e-bike!
What made you decide to become an IT contractor?
I studied IT, and I’ve always wanted to help people. Contracting allows me work on lots of different development projects and initiatives
What do you think it takes to be a standout IT contractor?
Being proactive, being able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment and fitting in with the team.
And lastly, tell us what you enjoy most about your current engagement at University of Melbourne?
I have a great team and manager and at UoM and we’re working on some great projects!
