Drumroll…the results are in! In place of our usual end of year celebrations, this year Clicks decided that a $10,000 donation to support those affected by COVID-19 would be a more fitting way to mark the end of the year. We asked our contractors and clients to vote for their preferred charity: Beyond Blue or Foodbank. When the results came back at a 51/49 split we decided to reflect that in our donation.
We are proud to make a donation of $5,000 each to Beyond Blue and Foodbank on behalf of our contractors, who have worked so hard and shown immense flexibility, and our clients, who have trusted us to find great people to support their business objectives in a thoroughly challenging year.
Beyond Blue provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health. Foodbank fights hunger by sourcing food for people in need and provided over 75 million meals last year. We are pleased to be able to support these organisations that help many Australians and their families who have experienced difficulties during 2020 through our donation.
Whilst I could go on about what this means to us, instead I need to tell you what happened when we called Foodbank to ask for their bank details. The lady on the phone gave us the EFT information, and at the end of the call asked how much we’d be donating. When we said $5,000, she shrieked with excitement, and said we MUST tell everyone that this will mean 10,000 extra meals for families this year. Everyone within earshot heard it, and it affected us more than we thought. We had to take a little time out to reflect on how humbling it was to be able to help those less fortunate. So I’m telling you! Because of the wonderful people we work with, there are 10,000 extra meals on tables this Christmas.
