Regional GMs step up to the roles of CEO and MD as current MD of twenty years steps down.
Effective 1 January 2022, Ben Wood will end his 23 year tenure leading Clicks. Tamara Ryf, currently Clicks’ Regional General Manager for Victoria and ACT, has been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Executive Officer of both Clicks IT Recruitment and its strategic advisory business, INDEX Consultants.
Ryf has been with Clicks since 2007, and has built some of Clicks’ largest accounts, most notably in its Public Sector business.
Nick Bacon, Regional General Manager for NSW and Queensland, has also been promoted. Joining Clicks in 2006, Nick will be Managing Director of Clicks, with a focus on customer success and service delivery.
Sam Micich rounds out the new-look ELG in her unchanged role of GM, Operations.
Speaking of the transition, Ben Wood says, “Tamara, Nick and Sam have a combined tenure at Clicks of forty years. There isn’t a team more experienced or better equipped to take Clicks to new heights. They have exceptional levels of engagement and loyalty from their own teams, and a strong roadmap for the future. I am completely assured of Clicks’ future success and the positive impact this transition will bring.”
Wood continued, “There’s no better testament to the success of our internal development and succession programs than these appointments. Tamara and Nick started as Clicks as Account Managers and have steadily progressed to become CEO and MD respectively. Learning is a core value at Clicks. The ability to provide meaningful career paths in our industry is something we are extremely proud of.”
With over twenty years in the industry, both in Europe and Australia, Ryf stated, “Whilst Ben’s departure signifies the end of an era, Nick, Sam and I have a clear vision to honour the legacy that he has built. We will become Australia’s favourite IT recruiter. We’re already well on the way.”
Ryf continues: “Where my role will differ from Ben’s is that I intend to be very active in developing new clients. Business development has always been my passion, and as MD, Nick will play a critical role in maximising growth in our existing client base. Supported by our exceptional back-office function, I’m confident this model will deliver strong growth in all sectors and regions.”
Born in Switzerland, Ryf graduated from the Alte Kantonsschule with a Diploma of Commerce & Linguistics. She also has Post Graduate Certifications from George Washington University and the Mt Eliza Business School. Both Ryf and Bacon are currently RCSA (the recruitment industry’s peak body) elected members on their respective Regional Councils, and participate as industry mentors in the RSCA’s PEARL mentoring program.
Clicks is part of the Tokyo-based $5b Outsourcing Inc group. A specialist IT recruiter, it has annual sales of $200 million with 55 staff located in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. Whilst Wood is stepping down from his executive responsibilities, he will remain a Director of a number of Outsourcing Inc’s subsidiaries in the Oceania region.
