Associate Scrum Master - Contractor

Contract: 12-month contract with strong extension potential
Location: Clayton, Vic 3800

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Scrum Master to support high-performing delivery squads in achieving their goals through Agile ways of working. Partnering closely with Product Owners and Product Managers, you will act as a servant leader, coaching teams in Scrum and Kanban, embedding Agile principles, removing impediments, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and embed squad-level Ways of Working aligned to broader program standards
  
• Ensure adherence to Agile practices across all delivery stages
  
• Schedule and run all squad ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives)
  
• Capture, track, and follow up on squad actions and outcomes
  
• Partner with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritised backlog (minimum two sprints ahead)
  
• Ensure work is well-defined and accurately represented in Jira
  
• Create, manage, and complete sprints while tracking progress against sprint goals
  
• Build and maintain Agile metrics, sprint dashboards, and burndown charts in Jira
  
• Support release planning and coordination across squads and dependencies
  

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Jira and Confluence
  
• Hands-on use of collaboration tools such as Slack and Zoom
  
• Proficiency with Google Workspace
  
• Experience using workshopping tools such as Miro or Lucidchart (desirable)
  

Certifications & Qualifications

• Working towards or holding Scrum Master and/or Kanban certification
  
• Equivalent relevant experience and/or formal training considered

• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills
  
• Excellent problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
  
• Confident facilitator with strong presentation and communication skills
  
• Experience supporting small-to-medium initiatives through to delivery
