Role Overview:
As an ELK Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising our client's ELK stack-based solutions. You will work closely with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to build scalable, resilient, and insightful logging and analytics pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored Elastic Stack solutions that help clients extract value from data in real time.
- Design and implement solutions involving Elastic product APIs, architecture planning, capacity scaling, and high availability setups.
- Configure and maintain Elasticsearch clusters including templates, shards, indices, and node management.
- Monitor performance and tune Elasticsearch for optimal scalability, resilience, and speed.
- Develop and manage Logstash pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and enriching diverse datasets.
- Model data and write efficient queries with a focus on high-performance search and analytics at scale.
- Create and manage Kibana dashboards, visualisations, and alerting systems that provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with software development, IT operations, and security teams to diagnose and resolve Elastic Stack-related issues.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with security standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for configurations, deployment procedures, and best practices.
- Tackle clients' most complex data ingestion and visualization problems with creative and technically sound solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Elastic Certified and able to demonstrate two unique customer case studies from previous Elastic consulting projects.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering and executing professional services as a consultant.
- Prior experience as a Software Engineer, System/Network Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with Elastic Stack in both on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack).
- Proficient in Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Solid grasp of networking principles, security protocols, containerization, serverless architectures, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, Chef, or Puppet.
- Must be eligible to apply or currently hold an Australian Security Clearance.
