Senior Java Developer x 3 - Microservices

Are you an experienced Java Developer with a passion for solving real world challenges in a high impact domain? We are currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering world-class, data-driven software solutions to support large-scale mining operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-term, greenfield program focused on rearchitecting legacy platforms into modern, containerised microservices that power real-time tracking, control systems, and industrial IoT for operational fleets.

What you'll do:

• Design and develop backend services using Java (Spring Boot) in a modern microservices environment.

• Contribute to technical architecture and software design in a collaborative, Agile environment.

• Solve complex engineering problems across distributed systems, edge computing, and real-time data integration.

• Participate in code reviews, write clean, testable code and support CI/CD practices.

• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years in enterprise Java development

• Strong experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Microservices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Hibernate, Liquibase

• CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions

• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures, pub-sub messaging, and distributed systems

• Familiarity with observability tools (OpenTelemetry) and secure coding principles

Nice to Have :

• Mining domain knowledge

• SCADA or GPS/Fleet Management integration

• Exposure to Edge Computing, IIoT and geospatial data

• Python scripting experience
