Head of Engineering

Drive product-led innovation in a high-impact engineering leadership role

I am partnering with an exciting technology company with a real-time SaaS platform who are looking to massively accelerate their product development. With strong product-market fit and a very ambitious roadmap, they're now seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the next stage of growth and innovation.

What you'll do:

• Lead and scale a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team (frontend, backend, AI/ML, QA).
• Own the entire product development lifecycle from roadmap and architecture through to deployment and optimisation.
• Drive the integration of AI/ML and Computer Vision into SaaS products.
• Collaborate closely with the product and executive teams to align business goals with technical strategy.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, Agile delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, security, edge computing, and scalable cloud architecture (AWS).
• Take an active role in team recruitment and mentorship, building an engaged, motivated engineering culture.

What you bring:

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years at Head of / Director level, leading teams of 10+ engineers.
• Proven background in cloud-native SaaS platforms, with deep experience in:
• Java Spring Boot, distributed systems, AWS
• Angular (preferred), or React/Vue
• Experience embedding AI/ML into commercial products (bonus if it includes Computer Vision).
• Passion for team building - you're a strong communicator, comfortable mentoring engineers and energising a team (introverts welcome, as long as you bring others with you).
• Product-minded with strong business acumen - you thrive at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer value.
