About our Client
We are currently partnering with a leading organisation undertaking a major digital transformation program - designed to modernise and connect the student experience across all key systems. The initiative focuses on integrating Student Management, Learning Management, CRM, and Finance platforms through Salesforce Education Cloud and MuleSoft, creating a seamless, data-driven ecosystem to support the full student lifecycle.
Role Purpose
The Integration Developer will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining complex integrations across the university's enterprise systems. Working within the Program delivery team, you will help establish the integration framework connecting Salesforce Education Cloud, Student Management Systems (SMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other institutional platforms.
This position requires a hands-on engineer with deep experience in integration technologies, API design, and cloud platforms - particularly MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (preferred) or comparable tools. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that data and processes flow securely, reliably, and efficiently across a modernised technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent technologies (Boomi, Informatica, Jitterbit).
Build System, Process, and Experience APIs following the MuleSoft API-led connectivity model.
Integrate Salesforce with enterprise systems such as Callista, TechnologyOne, PeopleSoft, SITS, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, SAP, Workday, and Marketing Cloud.
Develop robust DataWeave mappings and transformations between legacy SMS and Salesforce Education Data Architecture (EDA).
Implement authentication and security protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, OpenID Connect) and integrate with IAM systems (Okta, ADFS, Azure AD).
Establish and maintain centralised logging, monitoring, and error handling across integrations using Splunk, CloudWatch, or Anypoint Monitoring.
Collaborate with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and Functional SMEs to ensure data consistency, performance, and governance.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Extensive experience developing and deploying integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or similar middleware technologies.
Strong understanding of API design (REST, SOAP, RAML) and integration patterns (request/reply, publish/subscribe, batch, asynchronous).
Proven capability in Salesforce integration, including REST/Bulk APIs, Named Credentials, Platform Events, and External Services.
Proficiency in DataWeave, Python scripting, and SQL for data transformation and validation.
Experience with middleware and messaging systems such as AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus, or RabbitMQ.
Knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements (Privacy Act 1988, NSW PPIP Act, Digital ID Act 2024).
Experience implementing monitoring, retry, and error recovery mechanisms for reliable integrations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and functional teams.
Desirable Certifications and Tools
MuleSoft Certified Developer or Integration Architect certification.
Salesforce Certified Integration Architect or Platform Developer I/II.
AWS or Azure Integration / Data Engineer certifications.
Practical experience with Anypoint Studio, Postman, Git, Jenkins, Splunk, and Tableau CRM.
What's on Offer
Opportunity to contribute to a landmark transformation project within the higher education sector.
Work with modern integration and cloud technologies across Salesforce and MuleSoft ecosystems.
Collaborative, forward-thinking environment with strong leadership backing.
