The Role
You will drive and enhance the Linux based infrastructure that underpins the organisation's ERP and other key business applications.You'll work closely with:
- Subject matter experts for deep technical work
- Specialist ERP team - ERP updates, releases and troubleshooting
- Internal support team - supporting customers
What you'll be doing
- Managing ~50 Linux servers across AU & NZ (Ubuntu; some legacy RedHat/CentOS)
- Manage ERP upgrades, patches and deployments in Linux/Tomcat environments
- Backing up and refreshing databases (MySQL 8.4, with some older environments still in use)
- Troubleshooting application, infrastructure and environment issues
- Working with Azure cloud infrastructure
- Supporting after‑hours upgrades and cross‑timezone escalations as required
- Contributing to security improvements and documentation
- Involvement in special projects, automation work and DevOps‑style enhancements
What we're looking for
Must have capabilities
- ~4+ years of Linux Engineering / System Administration experience (Ubuntu, RedHat or CentOS)
- Experience with MySQL, Bash/Python scripting, and Tomcat/JVM‑based services
- Understanding of networking fundamentals
- Professional presence: you must be able to confidently interact with vendors, internal customers and leadership
- High attention to detail and strong documentation habits
- Ability to work in a small, stable team that values cohesion
- Azure cloud experience
Nice to have
- Exposure to DevOps and automation
- Experience in manufacturing, warehousing or multi‑entity environments
- Security fundamentals
