Programme Manager - Cyber Uplift
$1275 - $1275 per day
Sydney - CBD
Contract
Are you a true Programme Manager who thrives on leading complex cyber initiatives and not just managing a single project?
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a major Cyber Security uplift program, driving delivery of Essential 8 maturity and modern secure network capabilities within a large, highly structured environment.
You'll operate at the programme level, directing multiple streams of work, working closely with senior executives, and embedding the governance, controls and delivery rhythm required to take a critical cyber program through its next phase.
Why this role stands out
- Programme leadership role - not a project manager position
- Long-term contract through to June 2027
- Enterprise-wide impact with executive visibility
- Strong PMO and governance environment
- Complex stakeholder and vendor landscape
- Delivery-focused, outcomes-driven culture
The role
You will be accountable for end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring structure, alignment and momentum across multiple projects and workstreams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and leading the programme delivery strategy, roadmap and controls
- Directing Project Managers to achieve programme milestones and outcomes
- Managing schedule, budget, risks, issues, benefits and reporting
- Driving Steering Committee engagement and executive decision support
- Overseeing vendor and contractual financial milestones
- Embedding a strong delivery cadence aligned to a mature EPMO framework
- Navigating complex dependencies and business-critical events
What I'm looking for
This role will suit a career Programme Manager who has delivered at least one cyber security program of work and is comfortable operating in a highly governed environment.
You will bring:
- 5+ years as a Programme Manager (with earlier Project Management foundation)
- Proven delivery of cyber security initiatives, including exposure to Essential 8
- Deep experience working with PMOs, governance forums and executive stakeholders
- Highly polished interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong financial management across budgets, forecasting, accruals and variations
- A structured, highly organised and hands-on approach to programme controls
- Ability to lead through complexity, ambiguity and changing priorities
A technical cyber background is beneficial but not essential. Your strength is programme leadership and delivery. This is a role for someone who can bring order to complexity, build trust at executive level, and drive a cyber programme to successful completion.
Interested?
If you're a senior Programme Manager with real cyber programme experience and you're looking for a long-term, high-impact engagement, I'd love to hear from you.
