Data Governance Business Analyst
12 Month Contract
Sydney CBD Hybrid (50% on-site)
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, governance specialists, and engineering teams to uplift data quality and strengthen data governance across enterprise data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyse and interpret data within enterprise data stores for business intelligence and analytics use cases.
- Partner with business and IT teams to design, implement, and maintain data quality frameworks and governance processes.
- Support business units in documenting, shaping, and delivering data-related projects and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to data cataloguing activities and assist with associated data modelling tasks.
- Capture and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements in clear, structured formats, including BRDs or user stories for Agile delivery.
- Produce detailed process maps using BPMN, including current-state (as-is) assessments and future-state (to-be) designs.
- Rapidly develop an understanding of the organisation's business structure, operations, and strategic goals to ensure alignment.
- Take ownership of deliverables and manage personal performance to support strategic outcomes.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of the full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and proven experience delivering in Agile environments.
- Advanced capability in eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements, particularly within data governance, data quality, and analytics initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience using industry-standard process modelling and requirements management tools.
- Solid expertise in process modelling (BPMN), data analysis, and data modelling, with the ability to translate governance policies and data standards into practical business processes and requirements.
Mandatory & Desirable Requirements
Australian Citizenship is required.
Candidates with a current Baseline or NV1 security clearance are highly desirable.
