We are currently partnering with a leading Australian not-for-profit organisation, a respected, member-led business focused on advancing education and corporate governance in the Australian market. As part of their ongoing digital transformation journey, they are investing in next-generation platforms to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated infrastructure and software solutions.
Role Purpose
The DevOps Engineer will join a high-impact technology team, contributing to the delivery of operational value through robust, end-to-end infrastructure, platform, and software solutions. This role focuses on hands-on technical delivery, implementing and maintaining on-premise and cloud-based systems, optimising processes through automation, and supporting continuous integration and deployment practices.
You will work across infrastructure, development, and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure environments, supporting both internal and customer-facing systems. The ideal candidate brings strong DevOps expertise, a focus on technical implementation over people management, and proven experience delivering enterprise-grade solutions end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and implement the DevOps delivery plan, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency, including automation of manual processes.
- Deliver rapid coding, testing, review, integration, and deployment without sacrificing quality or stability.
- Support automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management practices.
- Deploy and maintain applications across production environments in a consistent, reliable, and secure manner.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis of technical issues and implement fixes and updates.
- Integrate and test components and systems to ensure operational efficiency across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Support Agile development workflows, contributing to continuous improvement and shorter release cycles.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure best practices in version control and system configuration.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry standards, and security best practices.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on DevOps experience
- Strong experience with on-premise infrastructure, enterprise systems, and hybrid environments.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetess
- Experience with Microsoft cloud stack (Azure, Office365)
- Knowledge of scripting languages including Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, IT security principles, and infrastructure development.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration.
