Power BI Developer - 6 Month Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong Azure data platform expertise for a 6-month contract with one of our higher education clients. This role will be central to developing and optimising reporting and analytics solutions that leverage the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure services to support strategic and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.

• Leverage Azure data services (Azure SQL, Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse) to source, transform, and manage data pipelines feeding into Power BI.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective and user-friendly visualisations.

• Ensure data accuracy, governance, and security across all reporting solutions.

• Optimise report performance and implement best practices in DAX, data modelling, and Power Query (M).

• Document processes, standards, and technical solutions to support sustainability and scalability.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer in enterprise or higher education environments.

• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake).

• Solid SQL development and query optimisation skills.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks within Azure and Power BI.

• Higher education or public sector experience (advantageous).
