Our client a leading government agency is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to deliver a major security uplift project and drive Essential Eight maturity across its ICT environment. This role is ideal for a senior technical professional with hands-on experience in Microsoft Security Suite and Azure security controls.

• Deploy and configure Essential Eight Maturity Level security controls.
• Implement and optimize Microsoft Defender XDR, Sentinel, Intune, Purview, and related tools.
• Automate security processes, enforce patch compliance, and maintain backup integrity.
• Document configurations and ensure compliance with ASD, ISM, and PSPF requirements.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years' experience in security engineering roles.
• Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Security Suite and Azure security controls.
• Proven experience implementing Essential Eight controls.
• Current Federal Police Check and active Baseline clearance
• Cyber security qualifications and Microsoft certifications.

• Opportunity to lead a high-impact security uplift project.
• Flexible hybrid arrangement (3 days onsite).
