Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Reports to: Technology Operations Manager
Employment Type: 12-Month Fixed Term
Location: Melbourne CBD - Hybrid

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Azure background to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for transforming architectural requirements into detailed technical diagrams and comprehensive build lists, ensuring our cloud solutions are optimized to meet evolving business needs. You'll work closely with both the DevOps/Cloud and Architecture teams, contributing ideas, proposing innovative solutions, and supporting new technologies.


Key Responsibilities

• Technical Diagramming: Create detailed technical diagrams that accurately represent infrastructure requirements using Azure tools and services.
• Build Lists: Develop comprehensive build lists, including Azure SKUs and specifications, to guide the DevOps team in infrastructure deployment.
• Azure Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage Azure-based solutions that adhere to performance, security, and scalability standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services, with a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in creating technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
• Ability to create detailed build lists for Azure products and services.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Solid grasp of networking, security, and system administration principles.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automated infrastructure deployment and management.
• Familiarity with Azure security best practices in areas such as identity management, access control, and network security.
• Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure engineering
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly valued
• Additional relevant industry certifications are a plus
