What You'll Do
You'll be the go-to person for solving complex IT problems, whether it's network, hardware, software, security, or cloud issues. Keeping our IT infrastructure in top shape will be one of your key responsibilities. This means maintaining and upgrading servers, networks, devices, software, and applications. You'll also develop and enforce IT policies and best practices, like backup, disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
Communication is key in this role. You'll need to explain solutions clearly to both the internal team and clients. You'll also handle escalations, mentor, and train other staff. Collaboration is another big part of the job. You'll work with other IT professionals and vendors, manage IT projects and contracts, and stay on top of new IT solutions and technologies. And of course, you'll document and report IT issues, incidents, and resolutions.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic and top-notch customer service skills. Excellent communication skills are a must - you should be able to explain tech stuff in a way that makes sense to non-tech folks. A professional appearance is important too.
You should have solid knowledge of business IT expectations, policies, and procedures. Great troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You should be quick to understand IT setups, even with little documentation. High attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement are also key.
Your Background
Ideally, you have a Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or a related field. You should have at least five years of experience in IT support, administration, or engineering. Advanced skills in IT systems, security, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services (like Microsoft server & workstation, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Internet connectivity) are a must. Certifications like CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, or Google are a plus.
Other Things to Know
You need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. You must have a current driver's license and access to a car. You should be able to pass a police check if needed. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required is important, as is a willingness to travel for short periods.
