The Role:
- Permanent opportunity.
- Located in Brisbane, CBD.
- Salary - A07 band.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain networking and data communications services to ensure reliability and high performance.
- Manage service agreements with telecommunications and networking providers.
- Oversee WAN, LAN (including wireless) networking and data communications projects, covering solution design, contract and equipment sourcing, configuration, implementation, testing, status reporting, and review.
- Provide advice on network security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Respond to threat and vulnerability information, conducting security risk assessments and business impact analyses on networking and data communication resources.
- Develop and maintain high-quality networking documentation, including physical connectivity diagrams (L1/L2), routing and subnet diagrams (L3), IP address records, device and maintenance inventories, firewall rules, communication rack layouts, and network security policies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and partner agencies to ensure seamless integration of services, processes, and service levels.
- Promote a workplace culture that values and supports First Nations peoples, contributing to improved outcomes through meaningful engagement.
Must Haves:
- Proven ability to deliver high-level technical expertise, guidance, and support for enterprise infrastructure within a purchaser/provider service model, catering to a diverse customer base. Refer to the 'Technical Skills' table for specific technologies and competencies.
- Capacity to adapt to change by proactively seeking innovative solutions and responding flexibly to evolving requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer-focused service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently prioritise tasks in alignment with team commitments.

Key Skills:
Relevant experience and/or certifications in the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Juniper, Cisco, and Meraki network equipment
- Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls
- Citrix NetScaler
- Sophos UTM and WPAD
- Network design and implementation
- MS Visio documentation
- Splunk investigation and fault-finding
- Internet usage analysis, including cloud applications
Ability to analyse IT systems and develop, design, and implement effective solutions and improvements (SFIA Code: TECH Level 5).
Experience in developing and promoting ITIL Service Management processes, with a focus on incident, problem, test, change, and configuration management (SFIA: CHMG Level 6, TEST Level 6).
Proven expertise in providing second-level support on methods and tools within the technology domain (SFIA Code: NTDS Level 6; NTAS Level 6).
