Assets and Works Data Lead

In this role, you will lead the data stream for a major transformation project focused on standardising and uplifting asset and works management practices across the organisation. You'll be responsible for driving data readiness, supporting data quality improvements, and collaborating with stakeholders to shape the future state of data architecture and management.
The Role:
- 12 Months Contract
- Ipswich CBD Location
- Hybrid Engagement - 2/3 days in office weekly.
The Responsibilities:
- Lead profiling, cleansing and validation of legacy and new data sets, assess data maturity and health, and define remediation plans.
- Provide expertise in asset and works data structures, naming conventions and data quality standards aligned to ISO 55000.
- Define and implement data quality rules and KPIs (e.g. completeness, accuracy, consistency).
- Support master data management including asset registers, location hierarchies, maintenance plans, and work order templates.
- Contribute to the development and rollout of new data management processes.
- Manage the data workstream during delivery, including data readiness, testing, cutover, go-live and post-implementation support.
- Resolve data issues with vendors and business teams to enable effective reporting in the new system.
- Support change management efforts to embed improved data practices.
- Provide data expertise to other related transformation projects as needed.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience leading data streams in asset and works management projects, including ETL and transition to BAU.
- Strong background in developing data quality frameworks, business glossaries, and management rules.
- Experience improving data quality processes in line with privacy and system resilience standards, ideally in local government.
- Familiarity working across complex system environments (e.g. ESRI, Infor Pathway, Oracle Finance, and others).
- Relevant qualifications are desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership in data-focused roles.
