We are currently partnering with a leading consultancy firm operating across Australia, renowned for delivering innovative technology solutions and data-driven strategies to enterprise clients.

Role Purpose

The Data Engineer (Denodo) will join a high-impact data platforms team at a pivotal stage in their digital evolution. This role is hands-on and central to designing and delivering virtualized data models using the Denodo Platform, integrating SAP ECC and other enterprise systems to enable critical finance and commercial reporting outcomes.

You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient, reusable data assets, optimize performance, and ensure security and data lineage across solutions. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction and contribute to best practices in a growing data virtualization capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Denodo base views, derived views, and REST APIs.
• Develop virtualized data models aligned with business processes.
• Source and integrate data from SAP ECC and other enterprise platforms.
• Optimize Denodo view performance and manage access configurations.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to agile delivery planning, backlog grooming, and sprint execution.
• Ensure data lineage, security, and transformation logic are clearly defined.
• Participate in peer reviews and enforce best practices in documentation and tuning.
• Assist with troubleshooting and enhancements for existing Denodo solutions.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience delivering solutions on the Denodo Platform (Denodo certification highly regarded).
• In-depth familiarity with SAP ECC data structures and integration patterns.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques.
• Experience with version control systems, testing frameworks, and structured documentation.
• Proven track record of working in agile delivery environments and collaborating with business stakeholders.
• Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and performance-optimized virtual data assets.
