Our Client is on the lookout for a talented Security Automation Engineer to join their Cyber Operations team. This role is all about protecting our networks, systems, and data by using cutting-edge technology to fend off advanced attackers. You'll be designing, deploying, and maintaining security orchestration and automation tools to make our security controls more efficient and accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll be contributing to the design and implementation of security automation solutions, driving the technical direction for our roadmap. You'll develop and test automated response playbooks to handle security incidents quickly and effectively. Collaboration is key, so you'll work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance security controls with an automation-first approach.
You'll also be building and executing security control automation using existing tools and custom software, developing security tooling for internal use, and contributing to the strategic planning and maintenance of SOPs for the program. Plus, you'll define metrics and KPIs to measure the success of our security automation projects, assess and integrate third-party automation tools, and collaborate with partner institutions and the wider security community.
Education/Qualifications: We're looking for someone with a postgraduate degree or progress towards a degree in a computer-related discipline with relevant experience. Security-related certifications like CISSP, GIAC, or vendor-specific ones are a plus, as well as ITIL Foundation certification or above. An equivalent combination of experience and education works too.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Scripting/coding experience with languages such as Python, Rust, PowerShell, or C#.
- Technical understanding of Internet security issues, automation technologies, cloud architectures, and threat landscape concepts.
- Experience with Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS), SIEM products, and analysing security telemetry.
- Knowledge of ICT risk and security practices, networks, operating systems, and application platforms.
- Ability to understand attacker tradecraft and develop detection content.
- High-level project management skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
