Azure Cloud Architect

A leading government program is seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Architect to play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.

This is a pivotal role for a strategic thinker and technical expert who can drive cloud architecture, engage effectively with stakeholders, and guide development teams through complex cloud transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design cloud architecture for secure, scalable, and resilient Azure-based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and define cloud strategies.
• Lead technical project delivery, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and cloud governance.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership across compute, networking, security, storage, data, and applications.
• Guide and mentor development teams in Azure best practices and technical implementation.
• Assess current-state environments and define target architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement by staying current with Azure innovations and industry trends.

Subject Matter Expertise Across:

• Virtual machines, containers, serverless computing.
• Virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and network security.
• Azure Storage, Azure SQL, data integration (ADF, Event Grid, Logic Apps).
• Implementation of monitoring frameworks and alerts.
• Ensuring solutions meet organisational and regulatory standards.
• Azure Functions, App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, pull requests, and release automation.

About You:

• 8+ years' experience in cloud architecture, with a deep focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience in solution design and delivery within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Comfortable working independently and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Experienced in leading architecture documentation and project planning.
• Project leadership or project delivery experience will be highly regarded.
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification will be highly regarded.
