We are currently partnering with a leading Australian not-for-profit organisation, a respected, member-led business focused on advancing education and corporate governance in the Australian market. As part of their ongoing digital transformation journey, they are investing in next-generation platforms to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Role Purpose
The Senior Full Stack AEM Developer will join a newly formed, high impact product team at a pivotal stage in the organisation's digital evolution. This team is responsible for developing and scaling customer-facing digital products built on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and deployed within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
You will work across both frontend and backend systems to build scalable, dynamic, and user-centric experiences. The role also involves integration with a wider technology ecosystem, including APIs and external platforms such as Magento (current eCommerce) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (future platform). Experience building and consuming APIs will be essential to delivering seamless digital experiences across systems.
The ideal candidate brings deep AEM expertise, strong full-stack development skills, and proven experience working with cloud and enterprise application environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AEM components, templates, and workflows following best practices.
- Build robust backend services using Java, Sling, OSGi, and JCR.
- Deliver high-quality frontend experiences using Vue.js, Handlebars, Bootstrap, and HTL (Sightly).
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support frontend/backend communication and third-party integrations.
- Deploy and manage AEM solutions in the Azure cloud environment.
- Collaborate on platform integrations, particularly with Magento and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Support automation and development workflows using Node.js, Gulp, and related tooling.
- Work closely with product, design, and QA teams to deliver user-focused, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to code reviews, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on AEM development experience, including custom component and template creation.
- Proficiency in Java, OSGi, Sling, Servlets, and JCR content repository.
- Strong experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments.
- Solid frontend development skills with Vue.js, Bootstrap, Handlebars, and HTL (Sightly).
- Familiarity with build tools and automation using Node.js, Gulp, or equivalent.
- Experience with Magento and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices, cloud-native design, and performance optimisation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional product teams.
