Clicks IT Recruitment helps Payments client find top .NET Developer talent

Background and Challenge

Clicks was engaged by a market-leading Payments company to source one or more .NET Developers. The company was fast-growing and keen to secure as many talented .NET Developers as they could to support their growth. The company’s internal TA function had tried unsuccessfully to attract and hire people with the right high-demand skillset. 

After months, reviewing hundreds of CVs and interviewing more than a dozen prospective candidates, the hiring team had not been able to make one successful match. The challenge they experienced was finding people with the right level of technical experience and alignment to their organisational culture.

Clicks’ Solution

The client was keen for its TA team to continue with their endeavours, so a direct ‘source only’ model was agreed upon. This meant there was no competing advertising to the client’s existing advertising campaign.

To start with, Clicks conducted a thorough briefing with Hiring Manager, Technical Team, and HR. The Clicks Account Manager probed the company’s requirements, as well as what efforts had been made to date and why the internal TA team had not achieved success.

In conjunction with Clicks’ Delivery Team, we developed specific Boolean searches and identified key target projects and clients with similar technology stacks in the market. This produced a target list to inform our sourcing activities via the Clicks Database, Seek Premium Talent, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Consultant networks. These efforts yielded 37 potential candidates.

Each candidate then underwent an assessment process. After the initial screen, which was designed to quickly filter in or out high potential candidates, successful applicants underwent an interview process comprising bespoke behavioural, technical, preferential questions, technical skills testing, and reference checking with direct reports.

At the completion of this work, Clicks felt confident that six candidates met our client’s brief. We presented all six for consideration. Our client progressed four to the final interview stage and successfully made two hires.

In this instance, one candidate came via traditional means and the second via an extensive candidate network and referral program.
