Job details This newly established position for a dedicated Enterprise Architect within the Technology, Data and Digital Enablement Branch is pivotal to our organisation's technological advancement. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for consulting on the design and implementation of our comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring these align seamlessly with our business goals and support our long-term objectives.

The person in the role will be accountable for uplifting or generating most of our core architecture artifacts, including high-level designs, principals, and patterns.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices, with a proven track record of developing and implementing technology strategies that drive business success. They will be adept at analysing complex systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing innovative solutions that align with organizational goals. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as the role requires close partnership with business and technical teams to ensure the successful execution of technology initiatives.

Key duties and responsibilities Develop and sustain detailed reference architectures, high-level designs, principals, and patterns to steer the organisation’s architectural methodologies.

• Work in partnership with both business and technical teams to shape and define the current and future state architectures, strategies, and roadmaps, ensuring they are in sync with organisational objectives.

• Ensure alignment of our architecture practises to standard government frameworks such as the ISM, PSFP, and E8.

• Offer expert guidance on architectural designs to executives and delivery teams, ensuring well-informed decision-making and effective risk management.

• Examine business goals and drivers to outline the future state architecture, ensuring it aligns with enterprise capabilities and strategic aims.

• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing through proactive leadership and participation in architectural communities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

• Present architectural proposals, roadmaps, and related content to governance forums and executive showcases, ensuring clarity and stakeholder engagement.

• Identify redundancies, alignment opportunities, and reusable functions across departmental initiatives, enhancing efficiency and fostering innovation within the organisation.

Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.

Essential criteria 1. 1. Minimum 5 years as an Enterprise Architect or equivalent technology advisory roles. 2. Minimum 5 years experience with designing solutions and working within the Microsoft Azure platform. 3. Strong experience in business engagement activities, including large projects. 4. Proven ability to align Enterprise Architecture patterns, policies and outputs to business needs and security requirements. 5. Strong ability to generate clear and easily interpretable artifacts such as high-level designs and reference architecture. 6. Federal Government experience.

Desirable criteria 1. 1. Experience in a Regulatory environment and it’s associated technologies such as investigations and case management systems. 2. Experience with Dynamics365. 3. Organisational change management experience.
