Principal Business Analyst
Initial 12 month contract + Possible extension

In collaboration with the Queensland State Government we're looking for a Principal Business Analyst to lead the development of data governance frameworks, uplift enterprise data practices, and drive an organisation?wide AI roadmap. This role blends strategy, hands?on delivery, and leadership - shaping data quality, guiding teams, and enabling smarter, more efficient processes.


What you'll be doing

• Designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks and standards
• Leading S/4 HANA archiving solution deployment (C61, C62) to optimise data retention and access
• Establishing master data management processes and business rule deployment
• Creating a structured 12?month AI roadmap aligned to priority use cases
• Partnering on key projects (e.g., Payroll Optimisation, Plan to Report) to identify opportunities for uplift
• Running workshops and training sessions to build capability and shared understanding
• Mentoring team members to ensure high?quality delivery and continuous improvement
• Aligning stakeholders around shared data objectives and strategic direction

What you need to bring

• Strong experience with enterprise systems, especially S/4 HANA and data archiving
• Deep knowledge of data governance, master data management and quality frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic roadmaps, including AI and innovation plans
• Analytical strength to identify process improvements and data opportunities
• Confident leadership skills across workshops, mentoring and stakeholder alignment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
• A results?driven mindset focused on measurable, high?impact outcomes

Bonus points for

• Qualifications in IT, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related fields
• Postgraduate studies in Data Management, Artificial Intelligence or Business Administration
• Certifications in SAP S/4 HANA or DAMA/CDMP (or equivalent)
• Experience leading teams in dynamic transformation environments

• This role is located in Brisbane and will require the successful candidate to work on site in a hybrid arrangement. Remote working arrangements will not be considered.
