Quality Assurance Engineer

12 month contract

Up to $750 per day inclusive of Supperannuation

We are recruiting an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to step into a product‑led software environment. This position suits a clear communicator with a strong automation mindset who enjoys collaborating across engineering, product and customer‑facing teams to deliver reliable, high‑value platforms used by real‑world end users.

What you'll be doing

• Owning test coverage for user stories against defined acceptance criteria
• Taking over and stabilising existing QA and automation practices
• Estimating testing effort for features and backlog items
• Defining test plans and overseeing team‑created test cases
• Driving adherence to test processes and quality standards
• Supporting automated test environment setup and test data management
• Executing and overseeing regression and acceptance testing
• Collaborating closely with engineers, product partners and customer‑focused stakeholders

What you need to bring

• 4+ years' experience in Quality Assurance and automation‑enabled testing
• Strong communication skills and confidence working in cross‑functional teams
• A clear interest in automation (not necessarily a pure automation specialist)
• Experience working in complex, product‑based software environments
• Hands‑on exposure to automation frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, SpecFlow or similar)
• Working knowledge of Java and Python
• Experience testing microservices and cloud‑based platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Solid SQL skills for database and API testing
• Practical experience in Agile delivery environments

Bonus points for

• Background in industrial, mining or aerospace‑style product environments
• Experience building automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Contributing to code reviews and test estimation practices
• Identifying and driving continuous improvement in QA capability
• Strong understanding of end‑user and customer‑centric testing approaches

Important to know

• This role will require the successful candidate to work on site full-time 5 days per week.
