We're partnering with a globally recognised mining technology organisation seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team.

This role offers the opportunity to build software supporting large-scale mining and operational technology environments, working with modern cloud-native architectures, real-time data platforms and critical applications. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers across international teams while contributing to products used by some of the world's largest mining operations.

What you'll be doing

• Develop high-quality Java applications and backend services
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices
• Design scalable, resilient and maintainable solutions
• Contribute to technical design and delivery planning
• Write clean, testable and well-documented code
• Review code and support engineering best practices
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues
• Collaborate with QA, product and engineering teams
• Improve system performance, reliability and security
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What you need to bring

• 7+ years' commercial software development experience
• Strong Java development expertise
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• RESTful API development experience
• Experience working with microservices architectures
• Strong database design and development skills
• Exposure to modern build and testing practices
• Understanding of secure software development principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement

• Python development experience
• Edge computing or device-connected applications
