Azure Cloud Engineer

An established and high-impact government program is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic cloud transformation team delivering secure, scalable, and efficient Azure-based solutions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical cloud platforms that directly contribute to social outcomes. You'll be part of a fast-paced technical environment, working alongside DevOps and security experts to lead cloud architecture, data pipelines, governance, and infrastructure delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy Azure infrastructure: VMs, VNets, subnets, private endpoints, and server migrations.
• Build and manage cloud-native applications and services, including App Services, Functions, Web Apps, and databases.
• Lead on-premise to cloud migration efforts with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Develop robust ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and integrate data from various sources.
• Implement governance frameworks, usage policies, and security best practices across the cloud environment.
• Design, configure, and maintain databases in Azure including SQL, Cosmos DB, and Blob Storage.
• Support AI and machine learning workloads through deployment and operational readiness of Azure AI services.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to ensure cost-effective performance.
• Collaborate across teams and vendors to uphold platform integrity and deliver infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD automation.

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud architecture and engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services including Compute, Networking, and Storage.
• Proven skills in scripting and automation using SQL, and/or .NET.
• Well-versed in networking protocols and tools - TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls.
• Experience in DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently on security strategies and compliance alignment.
