Azure Cloud Engineer

Role based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane

The cloud engineer will create cloud infrastructure defined in Terraform and deployed via Azure DevOps to support the project's development teams and environments including development, test, integration, pre-production, and production.


As the cloud engineer you will be required to define reusable components to provision multiple environments.

You need to demonstrate your capability to quickly define and deploy environments using Terraform in the Azure platform to configure platform resources such as:

• Azure Databases (including backup strategies)
• App Containers
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Databricks
• Azure Kubernetes Service
• Sentinel
• Networking including vnets, public and private endpoints.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the design and presenting the architecture to relevant stakeholders as well as the hands-on implementation.


Skills and Experience required:

• Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience utilising Terraform (or another IAC lang to create cloud-based environments, setting up platform resources, networking, backups, and identities for bespoke hosted solutions.
• Experience constructing and configuring in the Azure platform utilising components such as: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Data Bricks, Entra, Azure API Manager, Azure DevOps and environment deployments via Azure DevOps CI/CD.
• Utilise system design documentation and effective communication to understand and proactively design and implement a project's required cloud infrastructure needs.
• Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations.
