Technical Lead / L4 Senior Network Engineer

Technical Lead (Network Infrastructure) 
4-Month Contract + potential 2 month extension
Up to $1,300 daily rate - Depending on experience

We're currently partnering with a leading financial services organisation to secure an experienced Technical Lead (Network Infrastructure) for a high-profile Technology Simplification Program.
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll drive the delivery of critical network initiatives, lead a small team of engineers, and work across complex enterprise infrastructure environments.

The Opportunity
As the Technical Lead, you will take ownership of delivering network and security initiatives across a large-scale enterprise environment. The design phase has already been completed, meaning your focus will be on technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, delivery oversight, and ensuring successful implementation outcomes.
You'll lead a team of two network engineers, providing technical direction while remaining hands-on when required.


Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of network infrastructure projects and initiative
• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers
• Take end-to-end ownership of project deliverables and outcomes
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex networking and security issues
• Work closely with architects, project managers, vendors and business stakeholders
• Influence technical decisions and infrastructure roadmaps
• Analyse network performance and security data, providing recommendations for improvement
• Support infrastructure security hardening and vulnerability remediation activities
• Produce technical documentation, reports and automation scripts
• Participate in incident response and major issue resolution activities
• Drive engineering best practices and knowledge sharing across the team

Must have

• Strong Cisco networking experience across LAN and WAN environments
• Hands-on experience with Cisco DNA Centre and enterprise networking platforms
• Expertise in F5 technologies (LTM, GTM and BIG-IQ)
• Experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto firewalls
• Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects and influence technical outcomes
