We're partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Procurement Officer.
This role sits within a central finance and procurement function that supports the delivery of critical public sector services across Queensland. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, you'll contribute to procurement planning, sourcing activities, contract administration and procurement governance outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused procurement professional who enjoys balancing operational delivery with stakeholder engagement. You'll join a collaborative team environment where your advice and support will directly contribute to the efficient delivery of essential services

What you'll be doing
- Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders
- Assist with procurement planning and sourcing activities
- Prepare procurement documentation and tender-related materials
- Support supplier engagement and market sounding activities
- Conduct market research and procurement analysis
- Develop specifications and procurement requirements with stakeholders
- Prepare evaluation plans, reports and recommendation documentation
- Coordinate procurement evaluation meetings and workshops
- Support contract and consultancy engagement processes
- Prepare briefing notes, reports and correspondence
- Maintain procurement registers and compliance records
- Ensure procurement activities align with government policies and procedures
- Build and maintain effective supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Assist with vendor negotiations and procurement outcomes
- Support continuous improvement of procurement administration processes
What you need to bring
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing or contract management activities
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and governance practices
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
- Strong written communication and report-writing capability
- Experience preparing procurement or business documentation
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience conducting research and market analysis
- Sound negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Experience working within a structured governance environment
- Government procurement experience
- Procurement Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Exposure to contract management activities
- Experience using SAP or similar financial management systems
- Knowledge of Queensland Government procurement frameworks
- Experience working within large, complex organisations
