Senior Software Engineer

They are investing heavily in the next generation of their platform and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can combine hands-on development expertise with technical leadership.

This is an opportunity to join a growing team working on real-time systems, asset tracking, communications networks and safety-focused software products that have a tangible impact on day-to-day operations.

What you'll be doing as a Senior Software Engineer

You'll play a key role in both software delivery and team leadership.
You'll work closely with Solution Architect, Systems Engineers, Project Managers and Software Engineers, to translate high-level requirements into practical solutions, while helping to guide and mentor a team of engineers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing high-quality software solutions from concept through to deployment
• Leading technical discussions and providing direction to a team of developers
• Breaking down requirements and ensuring delivery remains on track
• Developing scalable, resilient applications for Linux-based environments
• Supporting CI/CD practices and modern software delivery approaches
• Collaborating with local and remote teams across the broader organisation
• Contributing to architecture, design decisions and development best practices
• Ensuring software solutions meet performance, reliability and safety requirements

What we're looking for

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on while also providing technical leadership and guidance.
You'll bring experience in:

• C# and .NET development in commercial environments
• Software design and development across the full SDLC
• Designing scalable and maintainable production software
• Linux-based development and deployment
• REST APIs and OpenAPI development
• CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions
• Unit testing and integration testing practices
• Containerised application development and deployment
• Network-based technologies such as TCP/IP

Bonus points for experience with:

• C++
• Embedded systems
• Real-time operating systems
• Functional Safety environments
• CANbus, multicast/IGMP or similar networking technologies
• Mining, industrial automation, robotics or operational technology environments
