About the Role
As the IT Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end IT infrastructure and operations. You'll lead a capable IT team, ensure the reliability and security of systems, and partner with the business to deliver technology solutions that enable growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 IT Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives
- Lead IT projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance operations
🔹 IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee daily IT operations including networks, systems, and support services
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT environments
- Maintain robust IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
🔹 Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture
- Drive continuous improvement across IT service delivery
🔹 Systems, Networks & Security
- Manage infrastructure including servers, networks, and databases
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls, audits, and compliance
🔹 Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage external vendors and service providers
- Negotiate contracts to ensure value and service quality
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand and deliver on IT needs
Budget & Governance
- Own and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost optimisation
- Monitor spend and identify efficiency opportunities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
Support & Enablement
- Oversee IT support and helpdesk operations
- Drive user training and uplift IT capability across the business
What We're Looking For
✔ Proven experience in an IT Manager / IT Operations Lead role
✔ Strong expertise across IT infrastructure, networks, and systems
✔ Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
✔ Demonstrated leadership and team management capability
✔ Strong project delivery and stakeholder engagement skills
✔ Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ITIL (highly regarded)
