We are partnering exclusively with a well‑established, mid‑sized professional services organisation undergoing a period of technology uplift and modernisation.

They are entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, with a strong focus on uplifting their technology landscape to better support the business now and into the future.

This is a hands-on Technical Lead role where you'll play a key part in shaping and delivering modern technology solutions, while building structure and best practice from the ground up.

The Role

As the Technical Lead, you will take ownership of the organisation's IT landscape. This role will see you working closely with senior stakeholders (including C-level), external vendors, and internal teams to design, implement, and continuously improve systems and processes.

In the early stages, you'll be on the tools, ensuring continuity while introducing scalable, future-ready solutions. Over time, you'll help mature the environment, uplift capability, and embed best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current systems, applications, and MSP services to identify gaps and opportunities
• Define and drive a clear technology strategy aligned with business goals
• Provide hands-on technical support where needed during transition phases
• Manage and collaborate with MSPs and vendors to ensure service alignment
• Lead the design and integration of business applications to improve data flow and reporting
• Build and deliver a roadmap to improve system integration and overall efficiency
• Introduce modern, scalable solutions (including AI and automation opportunities)
• Act as the key technical advisor, translating business needs into practical solutions
• Establish foundational processes, standards, and best practices

About You

• Proven experience in a Technical Lead, Systems Lead, or IT Manager role within a mid-sized environment
• Strong background in IT strategy, systems integration and digital transformation
• Comfortable working in environments with limited structure, bringing clarity and direction
• Hands-on experience across business systems and application ecosystems as well as working with MSP
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft stack (M365, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot)
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and modern workplace tools
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
