Cyber Security Analyst

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of securing Council's information systems, networks, and operational technology-protecting the services that keep Tamworth running.

You'll monitor, detect, and respond to threats, lead cyber awareness programs, maintain robust policies and controls, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across Council and the wider cyber community.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design reports to guide cyber investment decisions, identify risks and opportunities, improve internal systems, and maintain relevant policies and standards.
• Support teams to understand cyber risks, provide advice on threats, prepare clear reports for technical and non-technical audiences, and foster strong relationships.
• Monitor security alerts, manage vulnerability assessments, deliver training and awareness programs, maintain threat registers, analyse security data, and produce detailed documentation.
• Promote safe work practices, meet legislative requirements, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and risk management.

You'll bring:

• 3-5 years of commercial experience in cyber security or a related role.
• Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Experience with frameworks like ASD Essential Eight, NIST, COBIT, or ISO.
• Strong technical knowledge of enterprise IT and Microsoft technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
