We are currently working with leading Australian non for-profit organisation. A member led business which provides its customer with a range of products and services to drive education and corporate governance within the Australian market.
Role Purpose
The Head of Data, Analytics and AI will play a crucial role in advancing the business by leveraging data strategically. The successful candidate will inherit a current strategy focused on data quality and management and will be responsible for creating a new three-year data strategy to be presented to the board. This strategy will emphasise data education, adaptation, and commercialisation of data assets while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Key initiatives include continuing the advanced analytics program and exploring AI to improve customer retention and growth.
This role is pivotal in leveraging data as a strategic asset to enhance member and business experiences, provide valuable business insights, and commercialise their data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy: Engage with business leaders to understand requirements, educate stakeholders on data capabilities, and develop a robust data strategy.
- Data and Advanced Analytics: Develop a roadmap to mature data practices, implement tools for predictive analysis, and use AI and machine learning to adapt to changing conditions.
- Business Insights: Provide insights for strategic discussions, establish knowledge-sharing processes, and prioritize data-driven initiatives.
- Commercialisation of Data Assets: Develop and execute strategies to commercialise the company's data assets, creating new revenue streams and enhancing business value.
- Data Management Framework: Oversee enterprise data management, implement data governance policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, manage expenditure, and promote data ethics and security.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven leader with a background working within Data environments. The ideal candidate will have started in a hands-on technical data role but progressed into management and leadership positions.
- Proven ability to educate the business on data, with strong stakeholder management skills to influence stakeholders at all levels on the importance of data strategy and its implementation.
- Ability to leverage data assets to enhance performance, increase efficiency, and drive profitability within an organization or division.
- Extensive experience in developing data strategies, leading data science practices, and implementing business intelligence systems.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy laws, and security audits.
- As a people leader, you will demonstrate experience in leading teams of 10-20 individuals in a hands-on managerial role.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
