This is an opportunity to work on complex industrial software deployed within mining environments, where reliability, consistency, and system performance are critical. You'll work closely with software and mechatronics engineers, combining hands-on testing, automation, and process improvement to help strengthen software quality and release confidence across the development lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
- Develop structured, repeatable test plans from existing documentation and product knowledge
- Define testing criteria to support code merges and software releases
- Conduct thorough manual testing across new features and enhancements
- Validate edge cases, system behaviour, UI functionality, and failure scenarios
- Maintain and expand existing Pytest automation suites
- Enhance Playwright end-to-end testing coverage
- Support reliable automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines
- Review test coverage and results to support release readiness
- Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence
- Analyse logs and environmental conditions to assist troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Identify opportunities to increase automation across the testing lifecycle
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of testing processes and quality practices
What you need to bring
- Approximately 3-5 years' experience in Software Testing, QA, or Quality Engineering
- Strong analytical and sceptical mindset with a natural focus on identifying risks and failure points
- Experience performing both manual and automated testing
- Ability to think beyond the "happy path" and challenge assumptions
- Experience developing test plans and test cases from limited documentation
- Experience with Python and Pytest
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks
- Ability to read, write, and debug automated test code
- Understanding of APIs and modern web application architecture
- SQL skills for validating and investigating data within PostgreSQL
- Comfortable working with Linux, containerised environments, and command-line tools
- Strong communication, defect investigation, and documentation skills
- Collaborative approach to working alongside developers and engineers
Bonus points for
- Experience with IoT, industrial software, robotics, or hardware-integrated systems
- Exposure to mining technology, industrial automation, or operational technology environments
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript applications
- Familiarity with C++
- Experience contributing to the improvement of QA processes and testing frameworks
