We are working with a leader in the education sector to source a Database Administrator for a permanent role.
As the Database Administrator you will be responsible for supporting College administrative system databases through design, management, and maintenance operations to ensure system availability. This role will also be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining integrations between systems. You will also identify and develop new ways of accessing and leveraging data to empower the College's administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, Manage and Maintain College System Databases
Ensure 24x7 operation of mission-critical database systems
Participate in applications projects in the role of project team member or technical specialist
Develop and maintain effective plans, procedures, and policies for database monitoring, management and upgrades to optimize database usage and performance
Evaluate new projects or initiatives and their impact to existing systems with respect to performance, capacity, security and availability
Assist with the development of the IT Helpdesk escalation framework for system database related support
Support and provide training to IT Support staff as required to assist with Level 1 and 2 application and database support
Recommend and implement suitable tools to improve management and monitoring of databases and applications.
Manage College System Integrations
Manage and maintain integration platforms
Develop and implement new and replacement system integrations using integration platforms available.
Provide technical leadership on data modelling and improve data visibility through system integration projects.
Build and maintain accurate and up to date documentation for new and existing College system integration projects
Application Development and Support
Manage and maintain College applications
Design and Develop Web Applications
Undertake Quality Assurance testing to ensure data security for production, staging and test environments.
Build and maintain accurate and up to date documentation on custom college applications.
Identify areas for improvement and consolidation of custom applications to streamline service delivery.
