To assist in the provision of helpdesk support service to employees and assist with training, hardware and software installation and maintenance requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Assist with helpdesk support:
Provide basic support for software applications (Microsoft Office 365 and other basic software applications)
Provide first response hardware support
2. Assist as training support for:
Microsoft Office 365, and other basic software applications
Basic PC and peripheral hardware operation
3. Assist with hardware and software installations and maintenance.
4. Assist with general office duties.
5. To perform any other duties within the scope of the position as directed.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND EXTENT OF AUTHORITY:
Accountable for the regular provision of helpdesk support.
Responsible for delivery of effective customer service.
This position acts under general supervision and within specific guidelines.
JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING:
Guidance and advice is always available on tasks to be performed.
The work requires a clear understanding of methods, procedures and equipment used.
Decisions of a non-routine or sensitive nature must be referred to The I.T. Team Leader with guidance and advice always being available within the time necessary to make decisions.
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
The following knowledge and skills are required to be utilised:
Genuine interest in Information Technology.
Basic knowledge of PC components and operations.
Basic knowledge of MS office software.
Knowledge of email and other internet applications.
MANAGEMENT SKILLS:
The following management skills are required to be utilised:
Skills in managing time and organising own work.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
The following interpersonal skills are required to be demonstrated:
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to resolve basic problems with minimal supervision.
Adaptability to a changing environment as per the demands of the work unit and staff.
Ability to work under instruction and take guidance.
Ability to work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following qualifications and experience are required for the position:
Currently completing or successfully completed Year 12 certificate.
Drivers Licence
Willingness to undertake a Traineeship in Information Technology
