Business Intelligence Developer within the School and Teaching Standards Division up to 30th June 2025. Primary Purpose of the Role
Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and developing technical solutions that transform data into actionable insights via interactive Power BI reports. The role supports the Division's data and reporting transformation efforts while maintaining the integrity and administration of Dynamics CRM data. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, business intelligence development skills, SQL expertise, Power Platform experience, and UI/UX design capabilities.
Key Accountability
- Understand and interpret business requirements in the context of Power Platform.
- Participate in design discussions, analyze source data, and develop Power BI reports and Power Platform solutions to meet business needs.
- Develop and maintain metadata, entity relationships, and data models.
- Enhance existing dashboards and reports to support management objectives and improve decision-making.
- Optimize BI processes to improve performance.
- Administer Dynamics CRM data and users.
Key Challenges
- Building relationships with stakeholders to ensure reliable and accurate information.
- Distilling business needs to identify fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Understanding existing data sources, models, and systems quickly.
- Delivering report changes under tight deadlines.
- Supporting data-driven insights for business processes and sector understanding.
Role Dimensions & Decision-Making
- Makes data-related decisions based on detailed analysis.
- Exercises autonomy under the Head, School and Teaching Data and Reporting.
- Fully accountable for delivering high-quality outputs on time.
- Prepares reports and documentation with minimal input from leadership.
Reporting Line
The Business Intelligence Developer reports to the Head, School and Teaching Data and Reporting, School and Teaching Standards Division.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience.
- Knowledge of emerging IT trends.
- Strong technical expertise in digital product delivery.
- Power Platform and Dynamics CRM experience (highly desirable).
