Tamworth Regional Council (TRC), in partnership with Clicks IT Recruitment, is on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Technology Support Leader to drive innovation, team leadership, and IT service excellence across one of regional NSW's most progressive councils.

Why This Role Rocks:
As the Technology Support Leader, you will:
- Lead a capable team of Level 1 & 2 support professionals, overseeing service desk operations and key IT infrastructure.
- Champion ITIL-aligned service management processes, uplifting the maturity and consistency of Council's IT support function.
- Act as the escalation point for critical issues and major incidents, driving prompt resolution and service recovery.
- Play a key role in the delivery of both BAU support and project work across TRC's IT landscape including cloud, network, cybersecurity, end-user tech, and operational technologies.
- Manage relationships with internal customers, external vendors, and managed service clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.
What You'll Bring:
You're an experienced IT leader with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach and a passion for service excellence. Your background will ideally include:
- 5-7 years of experience leading and managing technology support teams, including performance against SLAs and KPIs.
- A proven ability to build a culture of continuous improvement, staff development, and accountability.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle complex or escalated issues diplomatically and constructively.
- Demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure, service delivery, and systems support, with working knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Exchange
- Network and systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation
- Cybersecurity best practices and policy compliance
- Cloud and on-premise platforms
- Industrial automation and operational technology (highly regarded)
- A solid understanding of ITIL frameworks and service management practices.
- Experience managing vendors, third-party support providers, and service contracts.
- Ability to prioritise and juggle competing tasks while maintaining a calm and organised approach.
- Commitment to WHS, continuous learning, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
